Reid, the one constant in Battlefield Band's ever changing line-up takes time off to join Rob van Sante, the Batties' soundman.  Eight original songs from Reid maintain his fascination with Scotland's past, presenting what amount to stories in musical form. Covenanters, lighthouse keepers and miners are among the musical cast list, with Rob pitching in with a couple of his own compositions and the traditional 'Bold Grenadier'. Battlefield Band mates Alasdair White and Mike Katz are among the musicians accompanying the songs and taking part in four instrumental numbers but, for the most part, the sound is a simpler and more laid-back than you would hear from the Battlefield Band.
