For a slight change of musical scenery, Alan Reid (the only remaining founder member of Battlefield Band), joins forces with Rob van Sante (for some years the band's unsung fifth member / traveling sound man, and a singer and guitarist in his own right). Reid contributes most of the material, with eight new songs telling stories of ordinary Scottish people, that are nevertheless extraordinary characters (a specialty of his). Van Sante's warm voice harmonizes well with Reid's, and he contributes a couple of songs too, once again while assorted band members past and present help out. Long standing fans of Alan Reid's songs will find much to enjoy here. The next visit to the merchandising stall at a Battlefield gig could be expensive...
